Salvador Dalí (Figueres, 1904-1989) was an extremely versatile artist whose work encompassed a wide range of techniques. One of his least known facets was that of an engraver. Just as he did in his paintings, Dalí reflected his own individual iconography in his graphic art, creating prints with a characteristic obsession for detail. The images displayed in this exhibition explore the human comedy, the absurd yet no less real behaviour of the human being in the world at any given moment; in other words, throughout history.
This exhibition presents 72 engravings and prints produced between 1946 and 1974, forming part of his “Dalí Literary Series”. In those series, the artist copied and recreated works of world literature, adding in his own personal perspective and interpretation.
